Notes:

• The average prize in Game 1 was £95.01.
• Unlike last year, both games seems to proceed almost on time and actually had no mishaps. Note how both were after midnight and only 20-odd minutes apart, whereas last year, they straddled midnight and were over 3 hours apart.
• Camelot's wildly optimistic £80 million ticket sales estimate proved to be just that - sales were so poor that didn't even reach a third of that estimate. It can't have helped that they only started selling tickets (and hence advertising the game) a month before the draw, rather than two months before like last year.
• What was even worse was that not only did no-one win the top jackpot tier (5 match/5+bonus) in Game 1 like last year, they also failed to win the second tier (4+bonus). This resulted in a derisory "top prize" of £54,587 in Game 1.
• Game 2 resulted in only 5 £1m jackpot winners, less than a third of last year's Game 2 - you've seriously got to wonder if Camelot will bother with Big Draw 2002 after these disastrous results.
• My Game 1 years were manually picked by adding "19" to the front of my normal lottery first ticket's six numbers, but I didn't match a single year sadly. Game 2, randomly selected by the lottery terminal, resulted in the numbers 1355 and 2820 on my ticket, which unsurprisingly also lost, so that's me predictably £5 out of pocket.
• Prizes in Games 1 and 2 have to be claimed by 11.00pm BST on Saturday 30th June 2001.
