Easy Play Playslip Instructions
The following text is reproduced without permission from the
Vernons Easy Play playslip (which measures 82mm by 187mm high)
that was made available at National
Lottery retailers from Monday 11th August 1998.
How to play Vernons Easy Play
- Choose which option you wish to play.
There are 7 options to choose from.
- Each selection of 11 fixtures costs £1.00.
- Mark one box only per playslip with a heavy vertical mark.
- Take your completed slip to the National Lottery terminal and the terminal
will automatically generate one selection of 11 football fixtures per
£1.00 paid from the appropriate weekly fixture list(s) of 49 fixtures.
Alternatively, you could simply ask the retailer for a ticket.
- Please note that the terminal will generate a separate selection of 11
fixtures per entry e.g. if you choose to play two entries in one week, you will
receive two randomly-made selections of 11 fixtures.
- The retailer will give you a Vernons Easy Play ticket featuring the
fixtures selected and fixture date(s). Multiple entries will be featured on an
extended single ticket with each entry clearly designated by fixture date.
- You are responsible for checking your ticket and the number of entries
and the fixture date(s) on it before you leave the retailer to ensure they
are what you requested and that all the ticket details are complete.
How to win
- Every week, there is a Vernons Easy Play fixture list of 49 fixtures in
which two named teams play one another.
- You win by matching score draws i.e. fixtures which, at the end of
normal time including time added on for stoppages, result in a score of
1-1, 2-2, 3-3 etc. 0-0 results do not count. Extra time does not count.
There are normally 4 opportunities to win i.e. by matching 8 [or more], 7,
6 or 5 score draws.
Remember, from your 11 fixtures picked by the terminal, you only have to
match 8 score draws to win or share the jackpot.
Because the game is based on results of real football matches (except in the
event of postponed matches, for which special arrangements apply), the
number of score draws can vary each week. The more score draws there are,
the more winners there are likely to be.
In recognition of this, the following prize structure applies:
- In weeks of 12 or more score draws, there is no prize for matching 5
score draws.
- In weeks of 15 or more score draws, there is no prize for matching 5
or 6 score draws.
- In weeks of 17 or more score draws, there is no prize for matching 5, 6
or 7 score draws.
- In weeks of 4 or fewer score draws, the total prize fund rolls over to
the jackpot prize fund of the following week's game because nobody can match
8, 7, 6 or 5 score draws.
- In weeks of 25 or more score draws, the total prize fund rolls over into
the jackpot prize fund of the following week's game.
- If there are no winners for 4 consecutive weeks, the total prize fund
is paid to the National Lottery Distribution Fund for distribution to the
Good Causes.
How to find out if you have won
- Once the fixtures have been played, check the results on teletext,
in national newspapers or through other media, at National Lottery On-Line
retailers or, alternatively, call the National Lottery Line on
0845 9100000. [Don't forget that you can find the Easy Play
results on this site too !]
- To see if one of your selections of 11 fixtures has won, check the number
of score draws you have in each selection. There is no extra prize for
matching more than 8 score draws out of your 11 Vernons Easy Play fixtures.
Allocation of prize money
- The amount of each prize is dependent on the outcome of each week's
Vernons Easy Play game and is calculated in accordance with the prize
structure set out in the Rules and Procedures (see below). At least 38%
of the money played for each game is allocated for prizes.
How to claim your prize
- Prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the relevant game date
on the Vernons Easy Play ticket.
- Prizes up to £75 can be claimed at any National Lottery On-Line
Games retailer. For prizes above £75, please see the back of the
