Comments:
- The draw used ball set T4 in the Excalibur 3 machine
- The average prize was £11.16.
One in every 20.0 tickets won a prize (=4.99% of players).
- The prior history of the jackpot ticket included no wins.
- The numbers 16 and 20 joined the numbers
8 and 26 at the top of the main number frequency
table after making their second such
appearance.
- The number 8 is now the first one to have
appeared three times as
one of the six winning numbers.
- It took until the fourth draw to finally get more than one Thunderball
jackpot winner, but the 6 main UK lottery
winners tonight still
took away more money each than the combined total of the
three Thunderball jackpots won in this draw.
- The number of 5-match winners was the
joint lowest to date, whilst the numbers of 3+Thunderball, 3-match,
2+Thunderball and total winners were all the lowest so far.
- The average prize was the highest to date.
- This was the first draw where no single ticket combination had managed to
win a prize in each of the draws to date.
- Ticket sales rose for the first time ever,
although the intensive Thunderball media campaign is still in full swing
(TV ads, posters etc) and may explain the slight increase.
- Unclaimed prizes from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 30th December 1999 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
