Comments:
- The draw used ball set T2 in the Excalibur 2 machine
- The average prize was £ 5.61.
- From Saturday 12th July 2003 onwards, Camelot has completely refused to issue per-draw sales figures for any of their individual games,
despite continuously doing so for more than 8 years prior to that date. They blamed the media for only
concentrating on the main Lotto game sales (which have been falling steadily for years), which seems to be a poor excuse to me.
- This draw ushered in the first changes
in the Thunderball game since the introduction of the Wednesday draw way back in
October 2002. To summarise, the jackpot
(5+T/ball) is now £500,000, there is a new T/ball-only prize
tier (£3), there are now 39 main balls instead of 34 (more than doubling the odds
of winning the jackpot) and there are three draws a week (Wed, Fri and Sat).
- Because of the additional 5 main balls, frequency statistics have been zeroed in the
table above. In other words, the frequencies now accumulate from draw 965 onwards
rather than from draw 1 onwards. You can, of course, see the "final" old Thunderball's
frequencies here.
- This draw saw the highest ever main ball
(38)
seen in a Thunderball game - one of the 5 new balls added from this draw onwards.
- Sadly, despite heavy advertising and a doubling of the jackpot prize, the top
prize won in this draw was a mere £5,000. It's almost worth betting on how
many draws it will take to see the first £500,000 jackpot win - my guess is
5 draws.
- Prizes won in this draw must be claimed within 180 days i.e. by 5.30pm GMT on Monday 8th November 2010.
