Comments:
- The draw used ball set T2 in the Excalibur 1 machine
- The average prize was £ 8.39.
One in every 16.0 tickets won a prize (=6.25% of players).
- The prior history of the jackpot ticket included no wins.
- The number 3 joined the numbers
20 and 26 at the top of the main
number frequency
table after its
third such appearance. It is now also the outright leader
of the winning number frequency
table after
appearing as either a main number or Thunderball for the
fourth time.
- The appearance of the numbers 3,
17 and 24 meant that three
main numbers had appeared in the same
column
(the third in this case)
on the playslip, which hadn't happened before.
It was also the first time that only two columns (the
first column being the other one) covered all five main
numbers.
- Ticket sales showed the largest
week-on-week increase so far, but much of that could probably
be attributed to the main Saturday
lottery being a £20m
Super Draw and helping Thunderball sales.
- Unclaimed prizes from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 13th January 2000 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
Next Thunderball: #7 (Saturday 24th July 1999) [2 jackpot winners]
