Game 2
Winning years drawn at 10.08pm GMT on Tuesday 24th December 2002:
First year: 1668 Second year: 2605
Number of Game 2 jackpot (£1 million) winners: 5
All 5 of the Game 2 jackpots have now been claimed.
Notes:
- The average prize in Game 1 was £82.02.
- The machine Vyvyan was used in Game 1. The four machines used in
Game 2 were Lancelot (16), Guinevere (68), Arthur (26)
and Merlin (05).
- Although the TV show was a pleasingly short 15 minutes in length,
apparently interviewing Kat from EastEnders was considered more important
than the 5 draws, so two of them (Extra and Thunderball) were just shown
as sorted-ball static captions for 9 seconds ! It turns out they were drawn
much earlier (at about 8.00pm GMT) - it's outrageous that the BBC can
seemingly get away with this.
- For the fourth annual draw in a row (all of them so far in fact), no-one
actually managed to match all five main years in Game 1,
so yet again the prize pool from that tier was added
to the highest tier that had any winners (4+bonus in this case).
- Camelot failed to issue all the full results by 11.00pm GMT Christmas Eve,
although it didn't help that the BBC stupidly only gave the Camelot phone line
a mere 45 minutes before it was due to close. Of course, the official
lottery site was barely loadable (5 minutes per page...) until well after
midnight.
- I matched absolutely nothing in Game 1 and my two random years in Game 2 -
1534 and 2760 - also completely missed the mark.
- Prizes in Games 1 and 2 have to be claimed by 11.00pm BST on Sunday 29th
June 2003.
