Comments:
- The draw used ball set 6 in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £29.65.
One in every 66.0 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.52% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £6,741,671.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 3 wins totalling £30.
- The ticket
with the numbers 5, 14, 18, 25, 37 and 44 has become the first
one to have
won 14 prizes since the lottery
began.
- There are now less than 100 winning number
pairs that have never been drawn to date.
- There have been two jackpot winners for 5 of the last 6 draws, which
hasn't happened before for any number of jackpot winners.
- Scratchcard sales dropped to their
lowest level since the first week they were introduced (which was over
two years ago).
- This was the first time that the
combined sales dropped below £100m
since the midweek draw began.
- I apologise for the delayed updates and comments, which were
due to the fact that the ISDN Pipeline 50 box I had at home is now
being used elsewhere, disabling my home Internet access.
- I matched nothing on my first ticket and only one number on my second
ticket, notching up yet another loss.
- £968,177 of unclaimed prizes (2.51% of the total prize pool of this week's Wednesday and Saturday draws) from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 16th October 1997 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
