Comments:
- The draw used ball set 1 in the Lancelot machine and the average main Lotto prize was £25.54.
One in every 56.8 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.76% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £10,100,734.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 10 wins totalling £100.
This is by far the highest number of prior prizes won by
a jackpot ticket to date.
- The number 20 has become the first one to
appear ten times as a
bonus number
since the lottery began.
- The main number pair 35, 45 become only the second
such pair to appear 9
times in the history of the lottery.
- I matched two numbers on my first ticket and one on my
second ticket - yes, three numbers in all, but no win of course.
- Unclaimed prizes from this draw expired at 11.00pm BST on Monday 3rd August 1998 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
