Comments:
- The draw used ball set 4 in the Merlin machine and the average main Lotto prize was £21.61.
One in every 77.3 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.29% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £2,536,200.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 7 wins totalling £70.
- The number 38 has moved to the outright top of
the main and
winning number frequency
tables with its 74th and 88th appearances respectively.
- The main number pair 38, 46 has become only the second such
pair to have
appeared 15 times since the lottery began.
It's also stretched its lead to two in the winning number pairs frequency
table after its 22nd such appearance.
- The winning number triple 26, 38, 46 is the second such
triple to have made seven
appearances so far.
- This was the first time that two consecutive Saturday draws have had
the same number of jackpot (none) and 5+bonus (17)
winners.
- This draw had the lowest number of 3-match and total winners
and awarded the lowest total prize money of any Saturday draw to date.
- I matched one number on my first ticket and nothing on my second,
so I can't say I'm sorry no-one else grabbed the jackpot either.
- Unclaimed prizes from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 4th January 2001 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
