Comments:
- The draw used ball set 4 in the Guinevere machine and the average main Lotto prize was £25.07.
One in every 55.7 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.79% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £9,383,700.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included no wins.
- Ticket sales broke the record
for a non-rollover/Super Draw week, eclipsing the previous record holder,
Lottery #31, by over 200,000.
- This draw had the third highest number of
jackpot winners and the third lowest
ever individual jackpot prize, hence
making it only the third draw not to create a millionaire.
- There have now been over 50 million
prizes awarded by the lottery since
it began 11 months ago.
- This was the 6th consecutive draw in a row where there were more than 1,000
5-match winners
and also the 6th consecutive draw with a
5-match prize
less than £2,000. Neither of these events has occurred before.
- The number 5 now shares the top of both frequency tables, with its
9th appearance as one of the 6
main numbers and
its 11th appearance as one of the 7
winning numbers drawn.
- With the numbers 10 and 19 both appearing in this draw, the number 39
is now 2 appearances adrift at the bottom of the main number frequency table
with its single showing 39 draws ago (ironic !).
- This was the first time that two consecutive draws had two winning
numbers from the previous draw present (5 and 10 for this draw, 2 and 41
for the previous draw).
- The number 28 has now been drawn as a bonus number 3 times, which is more
than any other number.
- Close again as I matched 2 numbers, but it's the 45th winless week for me
as usual.
- £714,211 of unclaimed prizes (2.40% of the total prize pool) from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 21st March 1996 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
