Comments:
- The draw used ball set 2 in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £27.33.
One in every 60.8 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.64% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £7,337,542.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 3 wins totalling £30.
- The winning number 29 has failed to turn up for
32 consecutive draws, which is the outright second longest such
absence
in the history of the lottery.
- There have now been over 900 (out of a possible 1,176) main number
pairs in the history of the lottery.
- At about 9.30pm on Saturday, BBC teletext page 555 stated that there were
1,137,412 3-match winners, which was the total number of winners -
a classic mistake usually made by ITV teletext ! What's worse, they've
had this error on their page all week and it's now Friday. It
somewhat spoiled the launch of their third lottery page (554).
- No match on either of my two tickets this week is just too
depressing for words.
- £680,833 of unclaimed prizes (2.19% of the total prize pool) from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 17th July 1997 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
