Comments:
- The draw used ball set 7 in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £21.80.
One in every 48.5 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.06% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £9,658,313.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 4 wins totalling £40.
- The number 5 has extended its lead to three at
the top of the winning number frequency
table by appearing
for the 31st time. The number 25 has joined the
second-placed number 44 in that table.
- The number 5 also became only the second number (45 was
the first) to have been
drawn six times as a
bonus number.
- The winning number pair 05, 25 has now appeared 9
times since the lottery began, which is once more than
three other chasing pairs (which now include the pair
05, 14).
- All ball colours have now appeared at least 150 times as
drawn main balls.
- The final four main numbers drawn out were also the highest four main
numbers in that order after sorting the six numbers into ascending order,
which was the first time this had happened.
- I matched nothing on my first ticket and two numbers on my second
ticket, continuing my dismal losing run.
- A 5+bonus prize of £63,024 won by a ticket bought in the Leeds area expired and was added to the Good Causes fund.
- £1,137,579 of unclaimed prizes (2.95% of the total prize pool of this week's Wednesday and Saturday draws) from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 23rd October 1997 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
