Comments:
- The draw used ball set 8 in the Lancelot machine and the average main Lotto prize was £18.00.
One in every 40.0 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.50% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £10,049,022.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 4 wins totalling £40.
- The winning number 18 had failed for appear for 32 consecutive
draws prior to being drawn today (the third longest
absence
ever), which now leaves the winning number
26, also ironically with an absence of 32 consecutive draws, the
one that has currently failed to be drawn as one of the 7 numbers for the
longest period.
- Exactly 1,000 out of a possible 1,176 main number
pairs have been drawn since the lottery began.
- Ticket sales slumped to their lowest level
for a Saturday draw since January 1995.
- The jackpot
prize pool
was the third lowest of any Saturday draw to date.
- I matched one number on my first ticket and none on my second, which seems
to be a depressingly familiar losing pattern recently. Frustratingly, my
fourth ticket (which I only buy for Super Draws or rollovers) would
have won £10 if I'd have bought it.
- £1,299,393 of unclaimed prizes (3.42% of the total prize pool of this week's Wednesday and Saturday draws) from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 13th November 1997 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
