Comments:
- The draw used ball set 10 in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £30.56.
One in every 68.0 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.47% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £6,649,281.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 2 wins totalling £117.
- The winning numbers 44 and 5, 1st and
2nd in the frequency table,
both appeared yet again today and it
meant that the number 44 has the become the first one
to appear 40 times as one of the seven drawn balls.
- The main number pair 1, 31 has now
appeared seven times
since the lottery began, a feat only managed by 10 such pairs to date.
- Yes, this is the first time that the
main number pair 01, 02 has appeared since the lottery began.
- It was the first time ever that ticket sales
for a normal draw were higher than for a rollover or Super Draw
that preceded it the previous week.
- Four ticket combinations have now
won 15 prizes in the history of the lottery.
- I matched one number on my first ticket and none on my second, so
I hope this is isn't the start of another 7-month losing run !
- £1,519,631 of unclaimed prizes (3.98% of the total prize pool of this week's Wednesday and Saturday draws) from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 12th March 1998 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
