Comments:
- The draw used ball set 7 in the Lancelot machine and the average main Lotto prize was £23.80.
One in every 53.0 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.89% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £6,275,513.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 6 wins totalling £60.
- The number 44 is now the outright leader of both the
main (40 appearances) and
winning (47 appearances)
number frequency tables.
- This was only the second time that
two consecutive draws had the same number of 5+bonus and jackpot
winners.
- There have now been over 250 million prizes awarded since the
lottery began.
- Less than 150,000 ticket combinations
have now failed to win a prize in any of the 240 lotteries to date.
- This was a record 22nd consecutive Saturday draw where there was at least
one jackpot winner.
- I matched one number on each of my two tickets to continue my losing
sequence.
- A 5+bonus prize of £281,541 won by a ticket bought in the Sheffield area expired and was added to the Good Causes fund.
- £1,375,448 of unclaimed prizes (3.49% of the total prize pool of this week's Wednesday and Saturday draws) from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 8th October 1998 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
