Comments:

• The draw used ball set 4 in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £24.82. One in every 48.5 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.06% of players).
• If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £8,331,655.
• The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 4 wins totalling £40.
• The number 44 is now the outright leader of both the main (41 appearances) and winning (48 appearances) number frequency tables.
• All six main numbers were even, which is only the third time that's happened.
• Ticket sales were the worst ever for a Saturday rollover draw (the only Sunday draw to date [which was also a rollover] had lower ticket sales, but that was only due to the fact that it wasn't televised).
• Scratchcard weekly sales were the third lowest of all time.
• I matched one number on each of my four tickets, so the rollover predictably did me no favours.
• £1,049,505 of unclaimed prizes (2.60% of the total prize pool of this week's Wednesday and Saturday draws) from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 12th November 1998 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
