Comments:

• The draw used ball set 3 in the Guinevere machine and the average main Lotto prize was £26.73. One in every 59.4 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.68% of players).
• If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £7,593,171.
• The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 7 wins totalling £70.
• The number 25 moved into the outright lead of the main number frequency table after its 56th such appearance. It also maintained its lead of four in the winning number frequency table after appearance as such for the 66th time.
• Two ticket combinations have now won a total of 22 prizes each in the 344 lotteries to date.
• I matched nothing on either of my two tickets and hence I was duly whitewashed yet again.
• A 5+bonus prize of £191,295 won by a ticket bought in the Sheffield area expired and was added to the Good Causes fund.
• Unclaimed prizes from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 7th October 1999 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
