Comments:
- The draw used ball set 4 in the Lancelot machine and the average main Lotto prize was £22.36.
One in every 80.6 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.24% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £1,846,282.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 14 wins totalling £237.
- The 67th appearance of the main number
38 has closed to the gap to the
table leader
(the number 25) to one. It's also
three away from the same leader in the winning number
frequency
table after
its 78th appearance as one of the seven drawn numbers.
- This was the first time that a single playslip
row (the
10th one - 46 to 49) had all of its numbers appear
as winning numbers in one draw and it was also the second time
that only three playslip rows had been used for the 7 winning
numbers.
- The sum (289) of
the seven winning numbers was the highest ever,
smashing the previous 3-year-old record by 21.
- This draw had the lowest number of 3-match and total
winners of any Saturday draw to date.
- The total prize pool for this draw was the lowest ever
for a Saturday draw.
- I matched one number on each of my two tickets, but at
least no-one else won the jackpot...
- Unclaimed prizes from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 3rd August 2000 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
