Comments:
- The draw used ball set 5 in the Merlin machine and the average main Lotto prize was £17.62.
One in every 39.3 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.54% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £10,296,664.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 9 wins totalling £90.
- I matched one number on each of my tickets, so
I most certainly wasn't tonight's solo jackpot winner.
- The jackpot for this draw was won by
someone in south Hertfordshire and
remained unclaimed
for 180 days (they'd lost their ticket !) and has been added to the Good Causes fund.
Cruelly, there were apparently 115 hoax claims from pranksters saying they'd
won the jackpot (probably mostly via phone - I doubt anyone tried to present
a fake ticket to Camelot).
At the time of writing, this was the
largest ever unclaimed jackpot for any of Camelot's games.
- A 5+bonus prize of £51,471 won by a ticket bought in the Bonus West Midlands area expired and was added to the Good Causes fund.
- Unclaimed prizes from this draw expired at 11.00pm GMT on Monday 5th March 2001 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
