Comments:

• The draw used ball set 8 in the Merlin machine and the average main Lotto prize was £28.71. One in every 54.9 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.82% of players).
• If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £7,016,445.
• The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 14 wins totalling £140.
• The 98th winning number appearance of the number 25 has moved it to within eight of that frequency table's leader (the number 38).
• Two ticket combinations have now won 30 prizes to date.
• Camelot added £115,000 to the 4-match prize pool for this draw. This was the penalty meted out by the Lottery Commission because of a GTech software bug that had underpaid some 4-match winners a while ago. The additional amount is actually double what they underpaid and made the 4-match prize £2 higher than it would have been otherwise.
• I matched one number on each of four of my tickets, so although I matched 4 numbers in total, I still missed out on that "unusual" 4-match prize...
• Unclaimed prizes from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 25th October 2001 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
