Comments:

• The draw used ball set 7 in the Merlin machine and the average main Lotto prize was £30.25. One in every 57.9 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.73% of players).
• If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £5,098,091.
• The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 20 wins totalling £200. This was the outright highest numbers of prior wins by a jackpot ticket ever.
• The 100th winning number appearance of the number 25 has brought it to within 9 of the table leader (the number 38).
• Two more ticket combinations reached the 30 prize mark with this draw (making a total of 5 combinations in all to have done so).
• Ticket sales were the worst ever for a Saturday rollover draw.
• I matched nothing on my first and third tickets, one number on my second ticket and two numbers on my fourth ticket, so that's four failures for me in one draw...
• Unclaimed prizes from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 13th December 2001 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
