Comments:
- The draw used ball set 11 in the Lancelot machine and the average main Lotto prize was £27.40.
One in every 61.0 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.64% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £9,638,132.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 12 wins totalling £228.
- The lottery draw was delayed 30 minutes because of extra time in
the UEFA Cup Final (which Liverpool won 5-4), but the most notable thing
about this was that Camelot failed to keep their phone lines open beyond
the usual 11.00pm. This meant that big prize winners only had 30 minutes
that evening to notify Camelot they'd won and, even worse, the full
results weren't available on the phone line by the time they closed !
I got the full results from BBC teletext a little later
in case you're wondering (and exactly estimated the ticket sales).
- The number 38 now has a lead of nine in both the
main (92 appearances) and
winning (108 appearances)
number frequency tables.
- The main number pair 01, 38 has joined that frequency
table's leader (the number
01, 31) after its 18th such appearance.
- Yes, this was the first ever use of ball set
11.
- Ticket sales fell again for another
Wednesday to their second lowest value of all time.
- I matched nothing on my first ticket and one number on my second
ticket, which hopefully doesn't signal the start of another long, barren run
of losses.
- Unclaimed prizes from this draw expired at 11.00pm GMT on Monday 12th November 2001 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
