Comments:
- The draw used ball set 3 in the Merlin machine and the average main Lotto prize was £28.27.
One in every 62.8 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.59% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £8,457,539.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 13 wins totalling £207.
- The number 38 increased its lead to 10 in the
main number frequency
table after its 109th
such appearance. It also has a lead of 12 at the top of the
winning number frequency
table thanks to its
128th appearance as one of the seven drawn numbers.
- At the other end of the main number table, the number 13
is now four adrift at the basement after the 66th main number
appearance of the number 21 and it has an even more bleak
gap of 10 to make up at the bottom of the winning number frequency
table, having appeared for only the 71st time.
- The 55,225,279 tickets bought in this draw were also automatically
eligible for three additional draws at no
extra charge - this was to celebrate the name change of the main and
Extra draws from "Lottery" to "Lotto" (yes, Camelot spent £28.2m
doing this - can you say "pointless" and "colossal waste of money" ?).
- I matched nothing on either of my two tickets and I didn't win any of
the additional draws either, unsurprisingly.
- Unclaimed prizes from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 14th November 2002 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
