• The draw used ball set 14 in the Guinevere machine and the average main Lotto prize was £17.38. One in every 57.6 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.74% of players).
• If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £5,393,426.
• The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 15 wins totalling £150.
• Ticket sales for the main Lotto disastrously crashed for this draw to their lowest level for a Saturday draw ever - an amazing £1.8m worse than any other Saturday draw to date and probably due to customer confusion about HotPicks.
• HotPicks itself registered ticket sales that mirrored the typical Wednesday vs. Saturday sales pattern on the main Lotto draw (just under twice Wednesday's sales).
• I matched nothing on my two tickets, so hopefully sending off my annual subscription form this week might bring me some luck soon...
• Unclaimed prizes from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 9th January 2003 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
