Comments:

• The draw used ball set 14 in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £23.49. One in every 52.3 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.91% of players).
• If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £9,461,619.
• The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 18 wins totalling £331.
• The most common number (38) made its 112th main and 131st winning number appearances, giving it leads of 8 and 12 respectively in the appropriate frequency tables.
• Two main number pairs have now appeared 20 times to date. One of those, 38, 46 has also extended its lead to two in the winning number pairs frequency table after its 28th such appearance.
• The winning number triple 26, 38, 46 has become the first to make ten appearances, two more than any other such triple.
• Although main Lotto ticket sales increased for this draw, they were still the 3rd worst for any Saturday main Lotto draw so far.
• HotPicks ticket sales dropped for the third consecutive Saturday and are almost back to their first Saturday (i.e. lowest) sales level.
• I matched two numbers on my first ticket and nothing on my second ticket, so that was another wipeout in my long history of lottery wipeouts.
• Unclaimed prizes from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 20th February 2003 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
