• The draw used ball set 3 in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £19.80. One in every 44.1 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.27% of players).
• If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £9,770,294.
• The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included one win of £10.
• With the 11th appearances of both of the main numbers 20 and 24, the gap at the bottom of the main number frequency table to the numbers 19, 37 and 39 has increased to two.
• The number 45 is the first one to appear as a bonus number 6 times since the lottery began.
• Nine ticket combinations have now won 12 or more prizes in the history of the lottery.
• This draw had the lowest ticket sales of any lottery to date.
• The won individual jackpot prizes was the lowest ever won by either one or two people.
• The jackpot prize pool was the lowest such won pool since the lottery began, as were the 5+bonus, 5-match, 4-match and total prize pools.
• One match on each of my two tickets continued my losing sequence sadly.
• Unclaimed prizes from this draw expired at 11.00pm BST on Monday 1st September 1997 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
