Comments:
- The draw used ball set 8 in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £16.20.
One in every 52.1 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.92% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £2,109,496.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included no wins.
- It's the seventh jackpot-winless draw in the history of the lottery.
- The number 44 made its 8th appearance as a main number, joining the number
17 at the top of the frequency table.
- The number 5 also made its 8th appearance, but one of those was as a
bonus number.
- Ticket sales have now exceeded
£2 billion since the lottery began, but this week marked the first time
that they've dropped for three consecutive weeks (as did the
combined sales for the first time, which also
dipped below £100m mark for the first time since the first week of
scratchcard sales).
- Another frustrating week as I managed to match 2 numbers and be out on a
third by two.
- £683,610 of unclaimed prizes (3.44% of the total prize pool) from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 28th December 1995 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
