Comments:
- The draw used ball set 5 in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £30.27.
One in every 67.3 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.49% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £5,396,622.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 4 wins totalling £40.
- The main number 15 has failed to
appear for 42 consecutive
draws, which makes gives it the outright second longest
absence in lottery history.
- The main number triple 29, 31, 40 has become only the ninth
such triple to have appeared 3 times since
the lottery began.
- Even more remarkably, two winning number triples,
21, 29, 31 and 29, 31, 40 have both made their fourth
appearances to join two other such
triples at the top of the table.
- Ticket sales hit their lowest level for
a Saturday draw for 28 months.
- This was the first time in over two years that
two consecutive draws have had a single jackpot
winner.
- I matched nothing on my ticket and two numbers on my second ticket to
continue my current bad run of losses.
- £1,054,961 of unclaimed prizes (2.77% of the total prize pool of this week's Wednesday and Saturday draws) from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 30th October 1997 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
Next Lottery: #143 (Wednesday 7th May 1997) [14 jackpot winners]
Previous Lottery: #141 (Wednesday 30th April 1997) [1 jackpot winner]
