Comments:
- The draw used ball set 3 in the Guinevere machine and the average main Lotto prize was £18.01.
One in every 60.7 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.65% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £7,335,055.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 5 wins totalling £108.
- This draw had six
odd main numbers,
which has never happened before, although
six even main numbers have been drawn
on three previous occasions.
- We're back to a 4-way tie at the top of the main
number frequency
table
as the numbers
14,
25,
31 and
44 have now all been drawn 42 times as
one of the six main numbers.
- Both of the top two winning numbers,
14 (52nd appearance) and 31
(50th appearance), were
drawn
in this lottery.
- The 23rd appearance of the main number 39
still left it outright bottom of the main number frequency
table, but it's now only one behind the number 37.
Its 25th appearance as a winning number also left it
outright bottom of that frequency
table (moving it to within two of the number 19).
- The number 14 has now been
drawn
10 times as a bonus number, which is now only one less
than the most common bonus numbers (20 and
47).
- The number pair 01, 31 has streaked ahead to
a lead of three over all other
pairs by being drawn for the
13th time as a main number pair
and for the 15th time as a winning number
pair.
- Two winning numbers,
14 and 23, have now both appeared in each
of the last three
consecutive
draws. There has never been a situation before where two
winning numbers have achieved this feat simultaneously.
- I matched nothing on either of my two tickets, so not
even a small amount to cheer about there...
- Unclaimed prizes from this draw expired at 11.00pm GMT on Monday 11th January 1999 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
