Comments:

• The draw used ball set 4 in the Lancelot machine and the average main Lotto prize was £20.76. One in every 46.2 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.16% of players).
• If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £10,081,313.
• The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 7 wins totalling £70.
• The number 47 has now appeared 12 times as a bonus number, which puts it joint top of the bonus number frequency table with the number 20.
• The triple 03, 05, 22 has become only the third main number triple to have appeared four times since the lottery began.
• It was the first time for almost a year that a won Saturday jackpot prize was less than £1 million.
• I matched one number on my first ticket and nothing on my second ticket, so maybe "Hard Play" would be a good term for my attempts to win...
• £1,047,334 of unclaimed prizes (2.80% of the total prize pool of this week's Wednesday and Saturday draws) from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 11th February 1999 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
