Comments:

• The draw used ball set 4 in the Merlin machine and the average main Lotto prize was £17.98. One in every 40.0 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.50% of players).
• If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £9,251,488.
• The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 6 wins totalling £60.
• The 27th appearance of the main number 39 has left the number 37 on its own at the bottom of the main number frequency table. It also closed the gap between the rarest winning number (39) and the rest to two after its 29th such appearance.
• The number 4 has equalled the all-time longest winning number absence record by failing to appear for 52 consecutive draws as a winning number. It's also now joint second in the equivalent list of main number absences.
• This was only the third time in 302 draws that the Merlin machine was used.
• There have now been over 250 million Saturday draw prize winners to date.
