Comments:
- The draw used ball set 1 in the Guinevere machine and the average main Lotto prize was £17.69.
One in every 39.4 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.54% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £10,624,937.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 7 wins totalling £70.
- The 50th appearance of the main number 40
has moved it to within two of the main number frequency
table leaders.
- 17, 29, 40 became only the sixth winning number
triple to have appeared five times
since the lottery began.
- The 5-match
prize
was the third lowest ever for a Saturday draw, whilst the 4-match prize was
the second lowest ever for a Saturday draw (and the joint third lowest 4-match
prize ever).
- The 5+bonus and 5-match prize pools were the second lowest ever for a
Saturday draw. The 4-match prize pool was also the third lowest ever for a
Saturday draw.
- There have now been exactly 7,500 5+bonus winners since the start of
the lottery.
- There are now less than 25,000 ticket
combinations that have failed to
win a prize in any of the 330 lotteries to date.
- This was the last draw in my fourth annual subscription, but it didn't
help me at all as I matched nothing on my first ticket and only one number
on my second.
- Unclaimed prizes from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 19th August 1999 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
