Comments:
- The draw used ball set 5 in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £19.68.
One in every 43.8 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.28% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £10,638,131.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 10 wins totalling £100.
- Yellow has become the first
colour
to manage 500 main number appearances since the lottery began.
- The two rarest main numbers, 19 and
39, both made their 34th appearances in this draw, leaving them
only one adrift at the bottom of the main number frequency
table. They also share the basement
of the winning number frequency
table with 37 appearances each
(5 less than the next rarest numbers).
- This was the only second ever draw where seven odd balls
appeared as the winning
numbers (the first time was almost exactly
a year ago).
- Ticket sales slumped to their lowest level
in over two years, which makes you question the wisdom
of only having Saturday Super Draws during September and of not holding
any Wednesday Super Draws this month at all.
- I matched one number on my first ticket and nothing on my second ticket,
so bang went my chance of winning in two consecutive draws for the second time.
- Unclaimed prizes from this draw expired at 11.00pm GMT on Monday 28th February 2000 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
