Comments:

• The draw used ball set 1 in the Guinevere machine and the average main Lotto prize was £21.69. One in every 48.3 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.07% of players).
• If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £9,843,518.
• The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 8 wins totalling £80.
• Ticket sales plunged below £50m for the first time in over 4.5 years (since the third draw in fact !).
• I matched one number on my first ticket and nothing on my second ticket, but hopefully it won't be another 11 months to my next win.
• A 5+bonus prize of £51,095 won by a ticket bought in the Nottinghamshire area expired and was added to the Good Causes fund.
• Unclaimed prizes from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 6th January 2000 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
