Comments:
- The draw used ball set 5 in the Merlin machine and the average main Lotto prize was £38.99.
One in every 54.5 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.84% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £2,736,629.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 7 wins totalling £70.
- The 58th appearance of the main number
20 has left the number 13
on its own at the bottom of the main number frequency
table.
- Ticket sales were the worst
ever for a double rollover draw, beating the previous record
holder by almost £4m.
- However, tonight we did manage to see the largest ever
individual jackpot prize for a Wednesday draw.
- We also came the "closest ever" to a triple rollover draw after having
the outright lowest number of jackpot winners for a double rollover
draw to date.
- I matched nothing on my first, third and fifth tickets,
two numbers on my second and fourth tickets and one number on my
sixth ticket, so I spectacularly blew £6 there with no
recompense.
- Unclaimed prizes from this draw expired at 11.00pm BST on Monday 1st July 2002 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
