Comments:
- The draw used ball set 3 in the Merlin machine and the average main Lotto prize was £20.95.
One in every 46.6 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.15% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £8,547,723.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 24 wins totalling £291.
This was the outright largest number of prior
wins seen to date for
a jackpot ticket.
- The 98th main number appearance of the number
44 has left it only ten behind the frequency
table leader
(the number 38).
- The 80th appearance of the winning number
19 has left the number 13
ten adrift at the bottom of the appropriate frequency
table.
- Ticket sales were the worst ever
for a Saturday draw. In fact, the four Saturdays in April 2002
now hold the four worst ever Saturday sales positions.
- I matched one number on each of my two lottery tickets,
so, predictably enough, there was no respite from my losing run.
- Unclaimed prizes from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 24th October 2002 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
