Comments:
- The draw used ball set T4 in the Excalibur 3 machine
- The average prize was £ 8.84.
One in every 15.6 tickets won a prize (=6.42% of players).
- The prior history of the jackpot ticket included one win of £10.
This is the first time that a jackpot ticket had
won a prize previously.
- The numbers 20 and 26 both now share the top of
the main number frequency
table after their third such
appearances.
- Even more surprisingly, the appearance of the winning numbers
3, 7, 20 and 26 in this draw mean that there
are now five winning numbers that have
appeared three times in the
five draws to date (the number 8 is the other one).
- The number 7 has become the first Thunderball to have
appeared twice since
the Thunderball lottery began.
- The main number pairs 03, 20 and 19, 26 are
the first such pairs to have
appeared twice to date.
- The number 20 became the third main number to have
been drawn in two
consecutive Thunderball lotteries.
- The number of 3-match winners was the
lowest to date.
- Ticket sales plunged by their largest
percentage to date to their lowest level of course, more than 20%
lower than the sales during the launch week.
- Unclaimed prizes from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 6th January 2000 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
