Comments:

• The draw used ball set 6 in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £31.47. One in every 70.0 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.43% of players).
• If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £5,425,611.
• The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 3 wins totalling £30.
• The number 46 finally appeared after being absent for 41 consecutive draws (both as a main and winning number). The number 32 has directly replaced it (38 draws without appearing as a main or winning number - the latter is the outright third longest such absence ever).
• There are now less than 500,000 ticket combinations that have failed to win a prize in any of the draws to date.
• I matched one number on each of my two tickets to unsurprisingly stretch my worst ever losing draw sequence even further.
• £1,113,420 of unclaimed prizes (2.81% of the total prize pool of this week's Wednesday and Saturday draws) from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 26th February 1998 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
