Comments:
- The draw used ball set 1 in the Lancelot machine and the average main Lotto prize was £22.00.
One in every 49.0 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.04% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £10,286,096.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 4 wins totalling £105.
- The number 13 is now three adrift from the rest of the
pack at the bottom of the winning number frequency
table after the
61st appearance of the number 39.
- This was only the second Wednesday draw (and fourth draw overall) where
the number of 5+bonus winners was less than
the number of jackpot winners.
The draw also had the joint third lowest number 5+bonus winners for a
Wednesday draw.
- There have now been over 500 Wednesday jackpot winners.
- Ticket sales were not only the
worst of any of the 547 draws to date, they also set a disappointing
milestone of being under £25m for the first time.
- I matched one number on my first ticket and nothing on my second,
so no reward for the unlucky this time then.
- Unclaimed prizes from this draw expired at 11.00pm BST on Monday 17th September 2001 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
