Comments:
- The draw used ball set 12 in the Guinevere machine and the average main Lotto prize was £17.97.
One in every 40.0 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.50% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £10,899,305.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 9 wins totalling £115.
- The 60th appearance of the rarest main number
(13) still left it one adrift of the rest
of the pack at the basement of the appropriate frequency
table. Even worse,
it's still nine away from the rest in the winning number
frequency table
after its 68th appearance as one of the 7 drawn balls.
- This draw had the third lowest jackpot, 5+bonus
and 5-match and 4-match prize pools ever for a draw
where at least one prize had been won in the appropriate tier.
- I matched one number on each of my two tickets, so I predictably
struck out yet again this year.
- Unclaimed prizes from this draw expired at 11.00pm BST on Monday 12th August 2002 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
