• If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £10,225,090.
• The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included one win of £10.
• The main number 15 has now failed to appear for 37 consecutive draws, which is the outright third longest such absence in the history of the lottery.
• The ticket sales hit their lowest level ever yet again.
• These were the lowest ever jackpot and total prize pools for a draw where the jackpot was won. The 5+bonus, 5-match and 4-match prize pools were the lowest seen for any draw since the lottery began.
• I apologise for the delayed updates and comments, which were due to the fact that I was in Philadelphia, PA during this draw, attending an HP-UX conference.
• I failed to match a number on my first ticket and only matched one number on my second ticket, so I didn't win during my US trip (I won during my last foreign trip though).
• Unclaimed prizes from this draw expired at 11.00pm BST on Monday 13th October 1997 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
