Comments:
- The draw used ball set 3 in the Lancelot machine and the average main Lotto prize was £17.83.
One in every 59.8 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.67% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £7,843,432.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included no wins.
The last time this happened was
24 draws ago, which is the longest gap between prior-winless
jackpot tickets to date.
- The number 5 is now alone at the top of both the
main number (26th appearance) and
winning number (32nd appearance -
a clear lead of 3) frequency tables.

- This draw had the joint lowest number of 5+bonus
winners, the third lowest number of 5-match
winners and the second lowest number of 4-match, 3-match and total winners.
- The total prize pool was the lowest
since the lottery began.
- I matched one number on my first ticket and none on my second, which
seems to be a depressingly common occurrence recently...
- Unclaimed prizes from this draw expired at 11.00pm GMT on Monday 17th November 1997 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
