Comments:
- The draw used ball set 12 in the Vyvyan machine and the average main Lotto prize was £21.09.
One in every 47.0 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.13% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £10,229,708.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 12 wins totalling £120.
- Monday and Tuesday this week were UK Bank Holidays, which mostly
explained why ticket sales fell below £22m
for the first time ever.
- The low ticket sales meant that this draw had the third lowest
5+bonus and 4-match prize pools ever as well
as the second lowest 5-match prize pool ever.
- I matched one number on my first ticket and two numbers on my second
ticket, so matching three numbers across two tickets did me no favours
yet again.
- Unclaimed prizes from this draw expired at 11.00pm GMT on Monday 2nd December 2002 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
