Comments:

• The draw used ball set 4 in the Galahad machine and the average main Lotto prize was £22.66. One in every 50.4 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.99% of players).
• If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £8,393,659.
• The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 20 wins totalling £235.
• One ticket combination has now won 36 prizes in the 690 main Lotto draws to date - two more prizes than any other combination has managed so far.
• Although ticket sales crept back up above £40m, they were still the second lowest Saturday sales of all time.
• Lotto HotPicks had a record number of Pick 4 winners and record ticket sales (no doubt helped by the continued HotPicks TV advertising). It was also the first time that Saturday sales for HotPicks had been higher than the same Saturday's Thunderball sales.
• I matched one number on each of my two tickets, but if this had been a double rollover draw, my fifth ticket would have won me £10.
• Unclaimed prizes from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 30th January 2003 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
