Comments:

• The draw used ball set 2 in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £29.64. One in every 65.9 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.52% of players).
• If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £9,039,885.
• The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 10 wins totalling £100.
• In the draws to date, more ticket combinations have now won the jackpot prize (535 in all) than have failed to win any prize at all (533).
• This draw had the joint third lowest number of 5-match winners ever (and had, surprisingly, the same number of 5-match winners as last Wednesday !).
• I matched one number on each my two tickets to continue this year without a win yet.
• Unclaimed prizes from this draw expired at 11.00pm BST on Monday 6th August 2001 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
