• The draw used ball set 14 in the Vyvyan machine and the average main Lotto prize was £22.91. One in every 51.0 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.96% of players).
• If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £10,295,909.
• The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 4 wins totalling £40.
• BBC teletext page 557 incorrectly quoted the number of 3-match winners as 488,167, a mere 40,000 winners too many (what's £0.4m between friends ?).
• I matched nothing on either of my two tickets, so I scored a whitewash tonight, unsurprisingly.
• Unclaimed prizes from this draw expired at 11.00pm BST on Monday 30th September 2002 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
