• The draw used ball set 5 in the Merlin machine and the average main Lotto prize was £26.27. One in every 58.5 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.71% of players).
• If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £7,513,508.
• The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 13 wins totalling £130.
• Ticket sales crashed below £43m for the first time ever for a Saturday draw. The last two months have now seen the seven worst Saturday ticket sales of all time.
• I matched one number on each of my two tickets, so England's soccer win yesterday didn't aid my cause one little bit.
