Comments:
- The draw used ball set 6 in the Merlin machine and the average main Lotto prize was £25.31.
One in every 56.3 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.78% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £8,828,038.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 7 wins totalling £103.
- The number 20 has taken the outright lead
in the bonus number frequency
table after
its 19th such appearance.
- For a second consecutive Saturday,
ticket sales crashed to their lowest ever level
for a Saturday draw.
- The lottery TV show claimed that "after this draw, the lottery will have
had 500 million winning tickets". However, the sales were so poor tonight
that the number of winning tickets after this draw was actually
499,938,038, falling short of the 500m mark by 61,962.
- I matched nothing on my first ticket and one number on my second ticket,
so I was one of those who couldn't help the winning tickets reach 500m.
- Unclaimed prizes from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 22nd November 2001 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
